FISCAL NOTE

Senate Bill 135 (Act 2022-120) as enacted (1) exempts examiners employed by the Alabama Credit Union Administration from the travel expense allowances currently provided to State Officers and employees while traveling on state business; and (2) allows these examiners to be reimbursed for travel expenses according to internal polices adopted by the Administration, as authorized pursuant to the provisions of this act. This act could increase or decrease the financial obligations of the Alabama Credit Union Administration Fund by an undetermined amount dependent on the difference in the amount examiners are currently reimbursed and the amounts they would be reimbursed under the new policies adopted by the Administration. For fiscal years 2020 and 2021, in-state travel expenses for the Administration were $72,304 and $61,856, respectively.
