FISCAL NOTE
House Bill 453 as passed the House of Representatives would increase receipts to the Alabama Board of Massage Therapy Fund by an estimated maximum of $435,000 annually from the increased maximum licensure fees provided by this bill. This bill could further increase receipts to the Fund by increasing the administrative fine amounts that may be levied by the board.
Further, this bill would increase the administrative obligations of the Alabama Board of Massage Therapy by an undetermined amount to inspect massage therapy establishments owned by non-residents prior to licensing; however, this increase could be offset, wholly or in part, by the inspection fee provided by this bill, in an amount set by board rule. According to the board, there are approximately 185 non-resident owned establishments currently licensed by the board.
