FISCAL NOTE

Senate Bill 251 as passed the Senate would increase the obligations of the Alabama Math and Science Teacher Education Program (AMSTEP), administered by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education and paid from the Education Trust Fund, by an estimated $117,500 annually, beginning in Fiscal Year 2023, by increasing certain loan repayment amounts under this program for qualifying teachers from $5,000 per year, currently, to $7,000 per year.
