FISCAL NOTE
Senate Bill 282 as introduced could decrease receipts to municipalities by an undetermined amount dependent upon the amount of municipal traffic fines and penalties collected in excess of 10% of the municipality's general operating budget. This bill could correspondingly increase receipts to the Crime Victim's Compensation Fund and the Fair Trail Tax Fund, equally, by an undetermined amount dependent on the amount of municipal traffic fines and penalties collected in excess of 10% of the municipalities most recently completed year's budget and subsequently transferred to these funds, as provided by this bill.
As amended and reported by the Committee on Judiciary, exempts Class 1 municipalities from the provisions of this bill.
