FISCAL NOTE

Senate Bill 158 as introduced could increase receipts to the State Board of Health’s Lead Reduction Fund from civil penalties, ranging from a minimum of $250 per violation per day for a first violation to a maximum of $5,000 per violation for a third or subsequent violation. This bill will also increase receipts to the State General Fund, county general funds, municipal general funds, and other funds to which court costs are deposited and could increase the obligations of the State General Fund, the district attorneys, and local jails by an undetermined amount dependent upon the number of persons charged with and convicted of the offenses provided by this bill and the penalties imposed.
