FISCAL NOTE
House Bill 307 as passed the House of Representatives (1) allows qualified individuals with an alternative teaching certificate to be granted a professional teaching certificate by the State Superintendent of Education upon completion of an alternative teacher education preparation program and after teaching one full year, and (2) requires the State Superintendent of Education to maintain a database of alternative teacher education preparation organizations, approved by the State Board of Education. These provisions would increase the administrative costs of the State Department of Education by a small, undetermined amount which may be offset, in part or in whole, by application fee receipts collected for the issuance of certificates that otherwise have not been received.
