FISCAL NOTE

House Bill 68 as passed the House of Representatives could increase the obligations of the State General Fund by an undetermined amount to provide counsel to a defendant that has elected to proceed without counsel in certain proceedings involving children or protected persons.

This bill could also increase the obligations of district attorneys by an undetermined amount to acquire equipment to conduct video depositions of a protected person in lieu of in-person testimony.
