FISCAL NOTE

House Bill 336 as introduced provides for the certification of residential plumbers and gas fitters by Alabama Plumbers an Gas Fitters Examining Board which would increase the obligations of the Board by an undetermined amount dependent upon the number of newly certified residential plumbers/gas fitters. This increase could be offset, wholly or in part, presumably by an application fee, certification fee, exam fee or renewal fee established by the Board pursuant to this bill. The Board estimates 4,000 current master plumbers/gas fitters and 2,000 current journeyman plumbers/gas fitters would apply for the residential plumbers/gas fitters' certificate, in the first year, which could increase or decrease receipts to the state Plumbers and Gas Fitters Examining Board by an undetermined amount dependent upon the difference in the certification fees set by the Board for these new certifications and current certification fees paid by existing plumbers/gas fitters.
