FISCAL NOTE

House Bill 220 as passed the House of Representatives adds seven members to the Literacy Task Force which could increase meeting expenses of the board by an estimated minimum of $2,200 annually.

Further, this bill could increase the obligations of certain local boards of education by an undetermined amount by requiring elementary schools to implement reading programs that meet certain requirements; however, this increase in obligations could be offset, wholly or in part, by legislative appropriations.
