FISCAL NOTE

Senate Bill 214 as introduced would codify existing practice of the Alabama State Council on the Arts to: (1) provide grants, programs, and services to support the state’s art community; and (2) provide honorariums to advisory panelists in the amount of $150, as compensation for services provided in reviewing grant applications. According to the Council, the amount paid to panelists in FY 2021 was $13,350. However, the total amount paid annually could increase or decrease depending upon the number of panelists evaluating grants, but would not exceed a maximum of $30,000.
