FISCAL NOTE
Senate Bill 196 as passed the Senate proposes a Constitutional Amendment, that if ratified, could increase the administrative obligations of the Governor's office to require the Governor to notify the Attorney General, and a designated member of a victim’s family, prior to granting a commutation or reprieve to persons sentenced to death.
This amendment could increase the proclamation expenses of the Governor, paid from the State General Fund, by an estimated $100,000 for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023.
