FISCAL NOTE
House Bill 357 as introduced could increase receipts to the Alabama Board of Electrical Contractors Fund in the State Treasury by an undetermined amount dependent upon any additional civil penalties issued by the board of up to $5,000 as provided in this bill.
Further, this bill codifies the current practice of the Board of examination and issuance of provisional licenses. The provisional license fee currently set by board rule is $75, and according to the board, there are currently 538 active and 103 inactive provisional licensees. According to the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts, the Board collected $40,200 in provisional license fees in Fiscal Year 2020.
