FISCAL NOTE
Senate Bill 199 as introduced authorizes the Alabama Board of Chiropractic Examiners to purchase real property. This bill also provides that real property will be purchased solely with board funds and that any debts, obligations, or liabilities incurred through the purchase of real property is the sole responsibility of the Board. If the Board purchases property that is currently subject to property tax, then property tax receipts to the State (currently distributed to the Public-School Fund, the Public Welfare Trust Fund, Alabama Veterans’ Assistance Fund and the State General Fund) and to local governments will be reduced by an undetermined amount dependent upon the value of the property purchased by the Board.
