FISCAL NOTE

Senate Bill 135 as introduced exempts examiners employed by the Alabama Credit Union Administration from existing expense allowances provided to State Officers and employees while traveling on state business and allows them to be reimbursed for expenses incurred according to internal polices adopted by the Administration, as authorized pursuant to the provisions of this bill. This could increase the financial obligations of the Alabama Credit Union Administration Fund by an undetermined amount that would be equal to the difference in the amount examiners are currently reimbursed for and the amounts they would be reimbursed under the new policies adopted by the Administration. For fiscal years 2020 and 2021, in-state travel expenses for the Administration were $72,304 and $61,856, respectively.
