FISCAL NOTE

Senate Bill 36 as passed the Senate expands the definition of "gas" for purposes of regulating underground storage facilities by the State Oil and Gas Board of Alabama to include additional gases, which would increase the obligations of the Board by an undetermined amount to regulate the operation and abandonment of underground storage facilities. However, the increase in obligations could be offset by any fees and charges adopted by the Board, pursuant to the provisions of this bill, to defray the expenses of the Board in regulating underground storage operations.
