FISCAL NOTE
Senate Bill 102 as introduced would increase the administrative and financial obligations of the Alabama Board of Pharmacy to approve and issue permits to qualified pharmacy intern/extern applicants by an estimated minimum of $65,000 annually for additional staff to administer the intern/extern permit program. However, the increased obligations would be offset, in whole or in part by the following fees imposed on pharmacy interns and externs as determined by the Board: initial and biannual renewal permit fees in an amount not to exceed $100 and; (2) late fees, not to exceed $50 per month until renewed. Based on the current number of pharmacy intern/externs potentially eligible for this program, the permit fees could increase receipts to the Board by an estimated maximum of $121,500 beginning in fiscal year, 2024, and every even-numbered fiscal year thereafter.
