FISCAL NOTE

House Bill 337 as introduced would prohibit the state and any political subdivision, and state or political subdivision official in the state from using public funds or property to enforce any federal act, law, order, rule, or regulation that regulates the ownership, possession, or use of any firearm, ammunition, or firearm accessory. This bill could increase the administrative obligations of the Office of the Attorney General to seek actions against any political subdivision in the state for violations of this bill as a result of a valid complaint filed a resident of that political subdivision; this increase could be offset by a court award for reasonable expenses. This bill could also decrease state grant funds and certain tax revenues to any political subdivision of the state that violates the provisions of this bill by an undetermined amount dependent on the grant or tax revenues otherwise received by the political subdivision.
