FISCAL NOTE

Senate Bill 260 as passed the Senate increases the minimum threshold for contracts requiring competitive bidding from $15,000 to $25,000 which could reduce the administrative obligations of the awarding authority by an undetermined amount dependent upon the number of contracts no longer requiring a competitive bid. In addition, this bill allows an awarding authority located in multiple counties to establish a local preference zone in the municipality in which the awarding authority's headquarters is located.
