FISCAL NOTE

House Bill 137 as passed the House of Representatives creates the Sexual Assault Survivors Bill of Rights which will increase the administrative obligations of the Office of the Attorney General by an undetermined amount to develop and disseminate a survivor notification document to all law enforcement agencies and medical service providers in the state.

 In addition, this bill could increase the obligations of law enforcement agencies by an undetermined amount, to store sexual assault examination kits for the time frames provided in the bill and could also increase the administrative obligations of the various county and municipal law enforcement agencies by an undetermined amount to notify survivors of the information regarding testing, storage, and disposal of sexual assault examination kits as required by this bill.

Finally, this bill would further increase the administrative obligations of the Office of the Attorney General by an undetermined amount to comply with the provisions of this bill regarding establishment of the 17-member Sexual Assault Task Force and increase the obligations of the State General Fund by an estimated $3,000 per meeting.
