FISCAL NOTE
Senate Bill 197 as passed the Senate provides for the dismissal of a case with a prejudice, if a law enforcement officer who issues a ticket for a nonfelony traffic offense fails to appear before the court.
This could decrease potential receipts to the State General Fund and municipal general funds from fines; and decrease potential receipts to the State General Fund, county general funds, municipal general funds and other funds to which court costs are deposited by an undetermined amount dependent upon the number of cases dismissed with prejudice per the provisions of this bill.
