FISCAL NOTE
Senate Bill 333 as introduced would increase the obligations of the Alabama Athletic Commission by an undetermined amount to regulate unarmed combat. Any increase in obligations could be offset, wholly or in part, by: (1) license fees imposed for the promotion or holding of unarmed combat events and for participants of unarmed combat events; and (2) administrative fines the Commission is authorized, pursuant to the provisions of this bill, to assess and collect in an amount not to exceed $10,000 per violation.
Also, this bill as introduced could reduce potential receipts to the State General Fund and municipal general funds from fines; reduce receipts to the State General Fund, county general funds, municipal general funds, and other funds to which court costs are deposited; and could reduce the obligations of the State General Fund, local jails, the district attorneys, the Department of Corrections, the Bureau of Pardons and Paroles, and community corrections programs by an undetermined amount dependent upon the number of persons who would have otherwise been charged with and convicted of the offenses provided by current law and the penalties currently imposed.
