FISCAL NOTE
Senate Bill 239 as introduced abolishes the Medical Licensure Commission and transfers all powers to the State Board of Medical Examiners which would increase the obligations of the Board by an undetermined amount to: (1) require the Board to have exclusive authority to issue, revoke, and reinstate all licenses to practice medicine and osteopathy; (2) publish expenditures of the Board on its website; and (3) adopt rules for the continuing medical education program.
The Board’s increase in obligation may be offset, wholly or in part, from a decrease in board member compensation and travel reimbursement, by an estimated maximum of $10,500 for each day the Board meets; however, this would be dependent upon the number of board members present and the number of meetings held.
