FISCAL NOTE

House Bill 535 as introduced would place the roadway known as "Cheaha Road", which extends through Talladega, Clay, and Cleburne counties, under the jurisdiction and control of the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) and designate it a state scenic highway. Based on information provided by ALDOT, it would increase the obligations of ALDOT by an estimated $7 million to $10 million to bring the roadway up to state highway standards and address any deferred maintenance issues.
