FISCAL NOTE

House Bill 9 as introduced would reduce the obligations of Troy University and Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical (A&M) University by an undetermined amount by prohibiting the use of in-kind or matching funds to support institutes affiliated with the Chinese government operating on its campuses, as provided by this bill.

According to information provided by the university, Alabama A&M University's current contract with Confucius Institute, which expires in 2023, includes $150,000 in state matching funds.
