FISCAL NOTE

Senate Bill 262 as introduced provides of expanded duties of the Alabama State Defense Force (ASDF), and would clarify the pay schedule of ASDF members to receive compensation equal to half that of a National Guard member of an equal rank when called into active service by the Governor for a period of less than 15 days, and to receive compensation equal to that of a National Guard member of an equal rank when called into active service by the Governor for a period of over 15 days. This would increase the obligations of the Military Department by an undetermined amount dependent on the number of times the ASDF are called to service, the number of and ranks of members called to service, and the number of days served.
