FISCAL NOTE

House Bill 420 as introduced would establish an application fee, effective January 1, 2022, for distinctive license plates in the amount equal to the cost of producing a distinctive license plate template, not to exceed $100, which would be used to cover the cost to the Alabama Department of Corrections to produce a template for a new distinctive license plate.

Additionally, this bill would reduce receipts to the various counties, license plate issuance entities, and the Alabama Department of Revenue by a small undetermined amount for permanently affixing the current design of the Alabama Gold Star Family license plate.
