FISCAL NOTE

Senate Bill 249 as passed the Senate would decrease the administrative obligations of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs by removing the responsibilities of monitoring economic incentives for call centers within the state and subsequently increase the administrative obligations of the Department of Commerce by requiring the Department to now monitor the economic incentives of call centers within the state.

This bill would also cap the amount of civil penalty that may be assessed against a call center at no more than the unamortized value of any tax credit, grant, or loan received from the state or its political subdivisions.
