FISCAL NOTE

Senate Bill 198 as introduced would allow individuals to apply to the Alabama Department of Revenue for motor vehicle or manufactured home titles. This could increase the administrative obligations of the department by an undetermined amount; however, any increase in obligations would be offset, wholly or partly, by commission fee receipts paid directly to and retained by the department for processing electronic title applications. The bill provides that any commission fees collected would be continuously appropriated to the department. Based on the increased use of electronic applications over the last three years this bill could increase receipts to the department by an estimated $77,000 annually.
