FISCAL NOTE

House Bill 193 as amended and reported by the Committee on Ways and Means General Fund proposes a local constitutional amendment that, if ratified, would allow an elected official in the City of Bessemer in Jefferson County to participate in the Employees’ Retirement System (ERS) of Alabama. This bill would increase the proclamation expense of the Governor, paid from the State General Fund, by an estimated $100,000 for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2021; this bill would not otherwise affect state funding or the ERS state employer contribution rate.
