FISCAL NOTE

House Bill 111 as introduced provides for electronic monitoring of certain offenders released to the supervision of the Board of Pardons and Paroles. According to the Board of Pardons and Paroles, this could increase the obligations of the board by an estimated $42,583 per month using an estimated cost of $3.50 per day for monitoring and an estimate of 400 inmates released to the custody of the board per month.

This bill also provides further for the current requirement that the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency in conjunction with Department of Corrections (DOC) shall provide inmates a non-driver identification card upon release from DOC custody.
